29% of Hybrid Employees Would Quit if Forced Back to the Office Full-Time

29% OF HYBRID EMPLOYEES WOULD QUIT OVER A FULL RETURN TO OFFICE

SurveyMonkey’s 2026 workforce research found 29% of remote and hybrid employees would consider leaving their job if forced into a full-time return to office. Meanwhile 71% of managers in a separate 2026 survey say hybrid work makes their teams more productive, not less. Companies pushing full RTO are gambling retention against a productivity case that mostly doesn’t support the move.
